The Harris Academy Falconwood opened in September 2008. The Academy’s specialisms are Enterprise and Science with a ‘can-do’ ethos drawn from the world of sport of always improving upon your personal best. A new purpose built Academy to the value of £25 million will follow in September 2011 through Partnership for Schools.

 

We require a Co-ordinator of Science to lead a team of 7 staff teaching across all 3 key stages. The post would suit an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who wishes to take on more responsibility. The successful candidate will be accountable for leading, managing and developing Science and appraising team members. Experience of high quality GCSE teaching is essential, as this is a key aspect of the subject area and the Academy’s work. Applicants should possess strong communication skills and be an effective classroom teacher, who can demonstrate the ability to raise the achievement of all students. 

 

About you: You will have the ability, drive and enthusiasm to make a difference to students and young people from Bexley, Greenwich and the surrounding area, and help to build on the Academy’s outstanding first two sets of GCSE results. The successful candidate can expect to work in an atmosphere of mutual support and co-operation. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure.
