End of Year Message from the Head of Academy July 2026
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
As I come to the end of my first year as Head of Academy at Harris Academy Falconwood, I have found myself reflecting on what has been an incredibly enjoyable, rewarding and memorable year.
From my very first day, I have been struck by the warmth, kindness and sense of community that makes Falconwood such a special place. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents, carers, governors, partners and the wider community for the support and encouragement you have shown throughout the year. It has been a privilege to join and serve such a welcoming community.
I would also like to thank our exceptional staff, whose dedication and commitment have been at the heart of everything we have achieved this year. Every day, they work tirelessly to provide our students with an outstanding education alongside a wealth of enriching opportunities that help them grow both academically and personally. Their passion, expertise and unwavering belief in our young people make Harris Academy Falconwood the thriving school that it is.
Most importantly, I would like to thank our students. Throughout the year, they have consistently embodied the values that we hold dear: hard work, resilience, kindness and ambition. Whether in lessons, on the sports field, on the stage, through leadership opportunities or within the wider community, our students have represented the Academy with pride and have reminded us daily why our work matters so much. I am incredibly proud of all that they have achieved.
I would like to offer a special congratulations and farewell to our Year 11 and Year 13 students. As they prepared for the challenges of GCSE and A Level examinations, they faced one of the most demanding periods of their young lives with determination, maturity and resilience. They met every challenge head-on and demonstrated the character and perseverance that will serve them so well in the future.
As we look ahead to Results Days in August, I am excited to see the fruits of their hard work and dedication. To all students awaiting results, I wish you the very best of luck. We are already enormously proud of everything you have accomplished.
To our Year 11 students, I look forward to welcoming many of you back to our Sixth Form as you begin the next chapter of your educational journey with us. To our Year 13 students, as you leave Harris Academy Falconwood, I would like to wish you every success and happiness for the future. Whether your next destination is university, an apprenticeship, further training or the world of work, I know that you will go on to achieve great things. You leave our Academy with our very best wishes and we look forward to hearing about your future successes in the years ahead.
Before I wish everyone a happy and safe summer break, I invite you to look through the remainder of this newsletter, where you will find some of the many highlights and achievements from across the Academy this year, as well as important information regarding Results Days and key dates for the start of the new academic year in September.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our students, families and staff a happy, restful and safe summer break. Thank you for your continued support of Harris Academy Falconwood. I look forward to welcoming our students back in September for another exciting and successful year.
Have a wonderful summer.
Mr Darren Pearce, Head of Academy
