Harris Academy Falconwood Celebrates A Level Success
“I am incredibly proud of our students and the dedication they have shown throughout their A-level studies. Their resilience and commitment have truly paid off, and these outstanding results reflect not only their hard work but also their ambition to succeed. Seeing so many of them progress to prestigious universities and exciting career paths is a testament to their determination and the support of our staff. They should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.” - Sam Hayes, Head of Sixth Form
Students at Harris Academy Falconwood are celebrating today after its students have been awarded an excellent set of A-level results. Following the Academy’s recent Ofsted visit earlier in the year – which noted that pupils receive a very strong education and achieve highly - the staff are thrilled with the continued academic success of their students and are incredibly proud of the resilience and tenacity demonstrated by all students receiving their results today, many of whom are going on to study at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities.
A Level results showed an improvement from last year, with a positive Value-Added score and working above national average. Overall, 15% of all grades achieved were an A*/A and over 60% of all grades awarded to students were a grade C – an excellent achievement. Students performed particularly well in A Levels such as Product Design and Film Studies where all students achieved a C grade or above. A Level subjects Psychology and Sociology also performing highly with 74% of the cohort at least grade C or better. 1 in 5 grades in Psychology and Maths achieved A*/A grade – a truly outstanding accomplishment.
Our vocational subjects performed exceptionally well with an average grade of a Distinction with Sport students performing exceptionally well across all three courses. The lowest grade achieved in Sport Extended Diploma was a Dist*Dist*Dist.
