Enrichment Exchange 2026-2027

Enrichment Exchange is an integral part of the curriculum at Harris Academy Falconwood, providing students with exciting opportunities to explore new experiences, develop valuable skills and discover interests beyond the formal classroom curriculum.

Enrichment Exchange takes place on Monday during Period 6, from 3.20pm to 4.05pm, and is a compulsory part of our Academy curriculum.

We believe Enrichment Exchange is an important opportunity for students to develop new skills, explore their interests and experience activities beyond their usual taught curriculum. Students also have the opportunity to meet and work alongside others who share their interests, helping them to develop cooperation, tolerance and respect.

The table below outlines the themes within our current Enrichment Exchange programme. Each year group follows a different programme, with a wide range of sessions and experiences available throughout the academic year.

Each year group will experience Enrichment Clubs for one term and a Personal Development curriculum for the remaining two terms. This provides students with a varied programme that supports both their personal development and their wider interests.

We hope that students embrace the opportunities available through Enrichment Exchange and make the most of this valuable part of Academy life.

Autumn Term

Year 7 Personal Development 

During Autumn term, Year 7 students will explore careers and identity through the themes Building Character and Building Ambitious Futures. Students will record their learning and complete activities in specially created enrichment booklets.

Year 8 Enrichment Clubs

Year 8 students will have the exciting opportunity to choose from a wide range of Enrichment Club sessions, giving them the chance to explore new interests, develop new skills and spend time with students who share their passions.

From sport and creative arts to problem-solving, technology and performance, there is something for everyone. Students will be able to select the enrichment activity that interests them and enjoy a different experience beyond the classroom.

Specialist Enrichment

We are also delighted to offer specialist enrichment opportunities that run every Monday when Enrichment is taking place. These sessions provide students with the opportunity to develop specialist skills through longer-term activities.

• LEGO Masters – £12.50 per session
• Theatre Smiley Movement – £10 per session

These specialist sessions offer students the opportunity to develop their creativity, teamwork, confidence and practical skills in an engaging and supportive environment.

Year 9 Personal Development 

Year 9’s Autumn theme is Championing Change and Communication. Students will explore different experiences and viewpoints, develop empathy, and practise expressing their ideas respectfully. They will complete activities and reflect on their learning in enrichment booklets created for the programme.
