Rapid Flow Testing
When students begin to physically return to the Academy building, either at the end of the lockdown, or as part of the Key Worker/Vulnerable provision group, they will benefit from free and fast Covid-19 tests at the Academy, as will our staff.
This is due to new developments in the roll out of mass rapid testing, which we believe is going to enable the Academy to be much more proactive in ensuring that as many students as possible can continue their education onsite, safely and with as little disruption to their education as possible.
This is a national scheme being organised and delivered by all secondary schools in England. For those students who participate, which we expect to be the vast majority, it will drastically reduce the chance of having to selfisolate at home if they come into close contact with someone who has the virus. It will, of course, also reduce the spread of the virus and help to keep our Academy and the wider community beyond our gates safer.
COVID Testing Consent
So that the testing runs smoothly and efficiently, we will need a ‘COVID Testing Consent Form’ completed in advance. Please complete this form as accurately as possible. If your child is in Year 7-11 you will need to sign on behalf of your child but if they are over 16 they will need to sign for themselves.
To enable the COVID-19 testing to be completed, we need to process personal data for those taking part, including sharing of personal data where we have a legal obligation. Please find a link below to the related ‘Privacy Notice’ as well as some Q&As which we hope will answer the key questions you may have.
